anyone else read that article about the two airforce pilots who were scrambled to "ram" the jet over PA with their f35s?

they were training and had no live ammo and loading would take too long. they were told to ram the plane and try to eject. both pilots knew that wouldn't work and knew they would have to kamikazee or risk missing. one said they would take out the cabin, the other said she'd ram the tail.

then later, while in route, they got the transmission that passengers had already crashed the airliner and the pilots didn't have a chance to complete their suicide mission.

now every airfoce base has 2 jets, loaded and hot, ready and fueled at all times so they never have to ask a pilot to do that again.

nuts, huh?

Probably F-15s, as those are stationed at ANG bases. The F35’s first flight was December 2006.
