No. Sounding the Seventh Trumpet was shit. Waking the Fallen was tolerable. City of Evil is okay. Avenged Sevenfold was pretty good, and Nightmare was great. They're getting better over time, not worse.

I'd have to agree. The little I've heard of their early stuff was meh, but City of Evil and Nightmare are excellent. But since Avenged Sevenfold has Critical Acclaim, Afterlife, and Crossroads I'd say it's about as good.

A few of my metalhead friends kind of have this view. They loved them around City of Evil but didn't really get into Nightmare.
But I see kids with Avenged Sevenfold shirts around campus all the time, so they still have a decent fanbase around here.
