Every small attempt I made to turn my life around seems to relapse to the point where I lose hope of things ever changing and to where I should start pondering suicide.

I've been there too Kat and it's hard.
The only way to move forward is to face your demons and forget about what has/hasn't happened in the past!

Oh yeah, I did a craigslist ad too. A while ago I read about someone posting flyers in NYC offering pretty much the exact same service. For me it was like "Well, I can't afford a therapist, I'm not catholic, I don't believe in psychics, and I'm not suicidal. So who do I go to?" So I thought I'd found a niche.
