Topic: Is it bad to drink too much tea?

Anonymous A started this discussion 12 years ago #36,107

I've been trying to substitute my soda consumption with tea.

I only really drink ice tea though.

Ice tea != tea

If it's store bought, it has a ton of sugar. Check the package. If you make it yourself, describe your process.

My mother usually buys the teabags for Orange Pekoe & Cut Black Tea.
There's no sugar included.

She makes it on the stove and then puts it in a pitcher in the refrigerator.

I referred to it as Ice Tea because I was ignorant as to what Ice Tea was and assumed it only meant "Cold Tea with Ice".

What happens if you drink too much? I have never heard of a cafeine overdose.

@494,138 (B)
He is in fact talking about normal tea that is then refrigerated.

Some lady was making something called thick sweet tea where she was using a hundred bags to make one pitcher, and was drinking a pitcher a day. I guess that she developed severe potassium defiency. I'll link to the article when I get home.

Why would she use hundred bags? That sounds like she was asking for it.
