Anyway if you he just ones a vector image does it matter what you make it with? You could just make a design in Illustrator, I don't think that you would need to actually do anything extra for making it an embroidery. Maybe the colors need to be changed to some specific system or something but I think it would be fairly easy.

If the logo was to me embroiled onto a jersey I imagine it would have to go through some sore of CAD application to make sure it rendered correctly onto the piece.
I would most likely design the logo in Illustrator/After Effects then import it into the CAD app. That's beside the point though because I've no interest in becoming a graphic designer. I suck at graphic design and it's shit pay. Some one also told me it would be unlikely that I'd receive money from him for my work. Fuck that shit.
I could but I have on my LinkedIn I'm available for work immediately... and volunteer work.

Okay, what the fuck. It doesn't help anyone to be unclear on whether you can get involved or not. Saying you're available to work immediately / volunteer doesn't obligate you to accept every offer. You could add in something like, "While I don't think my skill set would be a match for the project you describe, I would like to stay in touch. And thank you for reaching out." Just be direct, ffs.
