Your total vocabulary size is estimated to be:
42,200
words
I'm concerned about the scores here. I once read research about race and vocabulary levels; some of these scores code for African IQ levels, even Becky's. 40,000 is a typical functional vocabulary size for a White adult.

> 40,000 is a typical functional vocabulary size
no its actually 20,000–35,000 for native english speaker and 2,500–9,000 for non-native speakers

Native speakers of what race? Languages are no longer the isolated cultural property of their indigenous originators; as such, those mudspecies who have co-opted them (with any subsequent generation raised solely in that medium counting as a 'native speaker') may be bringing the averages down.

Most adult native test-takers range from 20,000–35,000 words Average native test-takers of age 8 already know 10,000 words Average native test-takers of age 4 already know 5,000 words
Adult native test-takers learn almost 1 new word a day until middle age
Adult test-taker vocabulary growth basically stops at middle age
The most common vocabulary size for foreign test-takers is 4,500 words
Foreign test-takers tend to reach over 10,000 words by living abroad
Foreign test-takers learn 2.5 new words a day while living in an English-speaking country

I read every day and have for most of my life. Only an average score doesn't make a lot of sense, most people do not read a lot.

Don't feel bad. I had a Bulgarian gf in grad. school that would often beat me at Scrabble. (Well, it was the short-lived Facebook Scrabble app, and she looked up words all the time.) But still... Being a pretty good Scrabble opponent against native English speakers, it was a slap in the face for me to be beaten by someone who was not even speaking English as their first language. The app was sort of Words With Friends-style if I recall, and you could just play random shit until something worked. (no challenges) She was wicked smart though, so the adorable quality really went up with every game won.

accidentally making up words becuase you're too stupid to know better is not the same thing as "creativity." it's flamboyant ignorance, and you're flaming.

Actually, I find the present lexicon inferior and unfitting for purpose.
Slavishly obeying grammatical syntax because you're incapable of spontaneous speech is not the same thing as being well-spoken, autistic chinklord.
