Next Generation - watch it
Deep Space Nine - meh, it's okay
Voyager - Ugh, capt. Janeway, no thanks.
Original Star Trek - it's really, really dated...
Enterprise - i really, really wanted to like this one, but i didn't.
The animated series - lol, really? i had no idea this was a thing.
The movies: watch all of the new ones, watch all of the Next Generation ones, watch all of the original ones but know that the first one was pretty boring and has a silly ending.

i liked DS9 pretty well, i watched most of them i think.
I didn't find voyager as entertaining personally, i kinda got tired of the universe. humans are just not that civilized. I wanted grittier stuff.
that's why i thought the back to the beginnings Enterprise was going to be good. Less reliance on advanced tech, no prime directive, i was thinking cowboys in space. it wasn't...

I would generally agree. I think DS9 doesn't resonate with some fans because it feels more like a serial drama set in space. There are story arcs and long term character development that plays out across the whole series where the other trek series are more of an adventure-of-the-week format.

TNG is great after season two.
TOS is really dated. It's almost scary. Roddenberry was trying to show us a human race that had evolved past racism, sexism, greed, etc. but some TOS moments fail epically at doing that by today's standards.
TAS is like a TOS that was able to explore crazier storylines because they didn't have to worry about make-up and special effects. (e.g. There is a TAS episode featuring a holodeck.)
VOY is known for treknobabbling their way through plot inconsistencies or just to resolve the story that week - who needs clever writers when you can just reverse the polarity and call it a day? That and what squeegee said.
ENT I haven't really managed to get into, so no comment on it.

If your're going to watch Star Trek, don't be a nigger... watch TOS first, so you'll know when the later series' are mimicking it.
