Topic: Raspberry Pi media center

Externally hosted imageI recently updated my Raspberry Pi to the beta build of Open Elec and Gotham build of XBMC, I also bought a Transcend JetFlash 700 USB stick (fast read/write) to run the XBMC on, also did some popular tweaks in the advanced.xml of XBMC. All in all the Pi is running this setup extremely well, even on a wireless USB nano connection. If you have a Pi and you haven't looked into using it for a media center in awhile you might check it out. Oh yeah, there's also Torrent streaming in XBMC now!

Next I'm going to update to the latest iteration of EmulationStation. I've used my Pi pretty much everyday since I bought it and I have maybe $100 into it, I'm really pleased with it.

Very nice! Do you also use it as a nas, or where do you store the media?

@previous (TTEH !JXsxEkDBLs)
I'd be happy to answer any questions I can. There is no tutorial that covers every aspect of setting up a Pi this way, it's a bunch of stuff from different people's suggestions.

Right now I'm just streaming media through XBMC add ons, but setting up SAMBA share and storing stuff on the USB is very simple to do and I'm gonna set it up again soon. I had it set up that way before, but I haven't redone it since updating/reconfiguring.
