So? I know a lot of schizophrenics who work. But they also take their medication and dont shoot up meth while running around in the woods, like fucking tarted up Blair Witches.

What if you suffer from terminal, crippling ennui?

Well okay, the meth doesn't help. But I can't really blame someone for not taking schizophrenia meds - those things can have terrible side effects.
I also don't know anything about Autphag, this is just in general.

You can't really just dismiss them arbitrarily like that. Plenty of people can take them just fine. They're certainly worth trying, since, you know, the other option is being schizophrenic.

"those things can have terrible side effects"
How is that dismissing them arbitrarily? I'm not saying no one can take them. Again, I don't know this person or why he won't take meds - do you?

You phrased it like just the possibility of side-effects justified somebody refusing to take them at all.

You phrase your entire counter-argument as though to implicitly downplay those possibilities, which are far greater in occurrence than is given merit and often dismissed as a hypochondriacal delusion on the part of the sufferer.

Wrong. I acknowledge the possibility of side-effects, and don't even try to put any specific amounts on how often side-effects occur. Ultimately, my main point in that post is that they are worth attempting due to the relief that they could offer.

Often times, they just like the highs and lows so much, or self medicating so much. It isnt about the side effects at all.

High and lows of schizophrenia? I don't what that implies in their case, bu as a manic deppressive, I'd rather get fucked by the side effects of the meds than suffer the "high and lows"

Seriously I know a lot of schizophrenics that get this "im off my meds euphoria" that lasts for a week or so and they really like that feeling.

I don't, but in the past I forgot to take it, some three times. One day without is enough to make the abstinence crisis kick in hard.
