So, yesterday I drove out to Houston to meet a girl I met on OKcupid, it was a mixed experience. We got along really well, we hung out for hours, much longer than I thought we would, and she's a fun person and all that.
On the flip side she wasn't as attractive as I thought she was going to be. I mean, she wasn't ugly, but her picture kind of gave me the impression that she was going to be a 9 or a 10. She was someone I dont think anyone would brag about having sex with, but I dont think anyone would be ashamed of either. Ill still in all likilihood end up sleeping with her, so there ya go.
I'm supposed to meet up with another girl soon (maybe today), this one seems really great, and she has more pictures, but you never know, you just never know. I actually reeeeeally hope this one is super attractive in person because I like her personality a lot.

She shooped the photo to make it look more better or?
Worst case turn out the lites or if that is not an option, brown bag her face.

I think this one might be a bit on the chub side. Not overly so, but I dont think she's perfectly skinny. But I actually might like her so much that I don't care, we'll see how the in-personchemistry is.

When it comes to hook-ups or even casual dating I'm not all that superficial. But going into a relationship I am. I mean my girlfriend represents me to an extent, and so therefore needs to be good looking.

I've never dated a meth head. No, both personality and looks count. If I'm going to be in a relationship with someone they need to be the full package. Ambitious, attractive, intelligent, etc.
I mean a lot of what I say is in jest, but there's usually some truth to it. Am I exactly as huge of a whiny narcissist as I portray myself to be on here? No, I definitely play it up a bit, but I do have a pretty big ego.

I mean she had positives and negatives all around. She was popular, well liked, efficient, all that stuff. Lexi had what I thought was the perfect public persona, or at least close to it, the girl fucking no one could get, but in private she was extremely mean spirited, and egocentric. Which I liked, actually. The problem was the drama, and hysterics.

No, not at all. Kirby didnt have the greatest public persona, a lot of people saw her as a slut. I liked her because we could talk for hours and never get bored of each other, we understood one another, and it was a very good back and forth. Apart from her obvious and glaring faults I thought she was just about perfect.

Naw you really need to not be so shallow and look for more then a good looking girl. If she is not so much so good in the head or insides that outside package - More like if you put a nice car body on a rusted out frame with a worn out engine inside. The car may look good but its just a slut ready for the scrap yard.

I like how you select girlfriends like you're leasing an Acura. Reducing love to a branded lifestyle accessory carefully selected and focus-grouped and marketed to communicate key talking points about your status and aspirations.
It's idiosyncratic, but pragmatic and rational in a sort of American Psycho way.

Years ago a gal friend (former model) said, I never will truly know if a boyfriend cares about me or is just happy to be seen with me.
I knew her bf was screwing around on her with a somewhat homely girl - Shoot she was kinda ugly. So when I had the chance I said to him - Why the less attractive girl on the side and he said - The model was high maintenance. Was never intimate with her, and only saw the nice girl/friend/hiking companion who never needed makeup when on hikes or ski trips.
postmortem says he needs a cute girl to make him look good. Takes a village to make this world. His is going to be filled with persona earthquakes.

I just need a girlfriend that fits my current needs, and desires. What's wrong with that? I mean dates are basically just interviews right? A big part of my criteria is "Will she make me look good?" And if the answer is "no" then she's reduced to late night texts when I'm horny.

Okay! Now there's a statement that is totally narcissistic but it doesn't sound like you're trying to sound narcissistic. Do you get the distinction between being narcissistic and trying to sound narcissistic? I guess the difference is when a person is narcissistic they just absentmindedly say clumsily self-interested things, but when someone tries to sound narcissistic they say the same things but also explain that they are saying them because they are indeed a narcissist. A classic example is that of "using people as objects." A narcissist would say something like, "I'm really upset about losing my girlfriend, she's the only girl I've ever met who knows how to give a proper prostate massage." However, someone trying to sound narcissistic might instead say, "I'm really upset about losing my girlfriend because, as an object who submits to my manipulation tactics, she learned how to give a great prostate massage which really affirms my sense of self worth."
See how one is subtle (and kind of funny) and the other is blatant and (not)? The first one could be easily seen as satire, the other, not so much. the first one requires the reader to think for themselves, "he's upset about losing his girlfriend because she fulfills a need. what a cad." The same theme could also involve being upset because she knows how to cook, or she cleans or something sexist or chauvinistic. The reader draws the same conclusion, "what a cad," and they might laugh because they can see it as parody, especially when you push the limits, i.e. prostate massage.
But when you're too blatant about it then the reader has nowhere to go with it. They are just told you're a bad person and are given a recounting of bad behavior. They don't think 'what a cad' or that there's anything charming about it. They just see someone trying too hard to come across as arrogant or superior, and people don't like that. That's how they paint villains so well, and unfortunately you've portrayed yourself as more of an arrogant antagonist than a puckish everyman's rapscallion which is what it seems like you're going for sometimes.

Maybe it's both! I dont know, I mean I remember when I wrote a letter publiclyto my ex someone pointed out that everything in it was related to me, how I felt, and not really about her at all. I think that might be an example of something more subtle. But yeah a lot of what I say is just off the wall and antagonistic.
