Good info for those who are allergic from certain kinds of pollens - Just means a good day to stay indoors OR go out with a mask on - and dump all clothes in bag b4 coming in house and pollinating all of house so they end up with allergies for many days after. Not done so much on West coast.

Don't you think it would be better for these people to use a separate pollen forecast or gardening forecast section? Instead of FUCKING EVERYONE getting an exclamation point notice that you have to click on just to find out it's just... fucking... pollen?

That's a fair point. But I mean how much of a nuisance is the notification.And really is it any more or less important than "it's gonna be cloudy" barring storms and such, how important is the weather to most people?

Well it goes in the section where there are watches and warnings for floods, thunderstorms, and tornadoes. So I think it's a public safety issue, really.

I have a hard time seeing pollen as a public safety thing. I mean maybe some people are so allergic pollen would kill them or something. Or bees! People have bee allergies, and bees are all over pollen.

Yes, I mean it's like a false positive, so people will not be as concerned by actual weather alerts. Actually, most tornado warnings are false positives too, which you'll sometimes hear blamed as the reason sometimes people just ignore real tornado warnings and then die.

Derp. Missing the point so hard. Mixing pointless warnings with actual severe warnings is dangerous, because pollen alert is pretty common, but a fucking flood is not. People will be trained to ignore the warnings, because each time they click it, oh hey it's pollen. Then that one time they don't click it it's something actually dangerous.

Going to add this here - Weather reports and me being clueless as I was with my first pollen report on TVOn my first biz trip to Boston Mass. Perhaps 28 or so and I am So Cal born n bread - It was around October. One week trip with two weekends to self - Weather report at end has a
PEAK report. Named locations like New Hampshire and kept saying PEAK. I had no clue at end wot they were talking about. Asked at front desk and learned so much so quickly - Traveled to New Hampshire and of course on way viewed amazing part of USA I had no clue to - Called my wife and said pack for next weekend as its a surprise so don't ask - I took two added days off n ditched work and we hiked a bit of the Appalachian trail in New Hampshire.
Weather reports can be truly life changing but where I live weather 95% of tyme is same o same o

If you were in charge ...you wood be angry at So Cal weather reports that include Surfing reports and tyme of low n high tide and RIP TIDE warnings (Cities with beaches such as San Francisco Los Angeles San Diego etc
