A crowdfunding campaign for making a potato salad incites Kickstarter insanity, raking in $9,000 over its $10 funding goal.

The $9000 number was at 9:43AM today

Now how could I post this and not reference the failed indiegogo $5000 scam of 45 days?

Its silly its fun its waste of money but I can spare a few bucks and minimum is $1 so maybe I will spot them $5 but no more cause it wood not be fair to those in need South of me or East of me re fires recently

Web has a lot of links on this silly kickstarter and its also filled with some weird errors such as 40 mins ago. $23,000 which was clearly in error - post on tc is also in error with $44,500

Last month, crowdfunding site Kickstarter loosened its strict(ish) guidelines for projects, allowing users to ask the internet to pay for basically anything that's not illegal. So Zack Danger Brown was well within the rules when he asked for $10 to make potato salad, and his 1,700 backers didn't violate the site's terms.

Bet kickstarter one day changes the rules a bit re 2 much non-sense but NOT until Network news keeps track of the Pertato Salad cause that one may have more PR value then anything else they have done and I put a bunch of money in2 Veronica Mars movie on Kickstarter which did get some good PR on news and talk shows
