Topic: Unpayed final UPC bill, dont want to pay the motherfuckers

I currently live in hungary, just finishing up my medical degree. I will graduate in 3 weeks time, and leave the country back to sweden at the end of july. A while ago i canceled my UPC subscription, gave them my internet box and i though everything was fine, until i got one final bill for the last month. A while back they fucked me over and charged me alot for beeing late w the payment, so im not that keen about paying that last bill. I dont live at the same adress they have in their system anymore, so all mail regarding the last bill has gon to my old address (where my buddy lives). Recently i got a email where they told me to pay my dept "or else legal actions would b made". Now, wtf should i do? Should i just ride it out the last months im gonna stay in the country and not pay? How long until they will involve authorities and so forth?

I didn't pay a bill once (because it was incorrect) and after 8 weeks (the time it took for them to realize it was incorrect) the bill was up to 2k euro, but they never did anything more than send letters. At that point they came from a collection agency though.

Basically if you no longer live at the address they have you are untouchable. Never do business with them again and be on your're merry way. Legal threats are just that; threats.

I have no clue how this might relate to certain EU locations.
In USA what you are doing is not so much so good. Such action wood go on your credit report. Ever frigging bank in country looks at it and long term it ends up being costly very costly when one skips a bill.
Honestly hope you can without consequence. A great credit score can end up very profitable. Many reasons but this is just one - Over the last two years Banks have put free cash, no strings attached in2 my wallet.
I think I am about to run out of the many offers for $100 here and $150 there for bank account offers - Checking and credit cards. Now maybe $1200 in perhaps 2.5 years.
Here, borrowing money from a bank has smaller interest rates based on your credit score.
