You're looking at this the wrong way: Microsoft are sadists. They broke the UIs of Windows and Office on purpose. Windows still has the registry and DLL hell. They give you subpar technology and you'll fucking like it.

Switch to a Unix-like OS and leave Microshit behind. Ubuntu is mature enough now to be used as a desktop OS, or you can make a Hackintosh.
