er just how does this differ from everyday normal back up drive? Other then as a Marketing gimmick.

I think it's dumb. It's just a NAS, which is an overpriced mini pc with a big hard drive. It'll likely perform worse than you want, and not do what you want it to do.

source: I own a similar device because my father thought it would be a good idea. It was, until we just set up our own NAS which is so much better.

Yep and few may notice but the company that makes this new revolutionary box that sits outside your computer is made by WD.

Western Digital aka Internal External Hard disk drives. Located about 50 minutes North of me.
Not trying to put them down cause wayyyyyy back in dark ages of Computers b4 disk drives they made a CPU chip used in DEC's computer. Also the first IC chip for Floppy disk control.

Great history really cause they picked up the IBM PC contract from getgo

Butttttt back as Anon C, I almost burst out in laffs cause I have no clue if just slapping new paint on old external drive n calling it a Cloud, will actually get newbies to think its a real new product.

Looking at this new painted external HD now called cough cough home brew Cloud

They say 2TB - 4TB

$219 for top of the line 4TB

So I type in2 Google External Hard drives 4TB and first hit is shocking just funny shocking
