Apparently the Minichan Notifier extension is no longer compatible with the latest versions of firefox, and it would be nice to have it updated. I might look into it myself soonish, but since I do not have the sources of the previous version I figured I'd ask.
If anyone else feels like volunteering to update it, that'd be cool too.

I'm the person who made it. I will update it for you, if you agree to pay me $100,000 a day for the service. This work doesn't come cheap.

According to http://minichan.org/addons Stal made the Safari one, and someone who preferred the anonymous (I recall they did not post using a name at that time) made the firefox one.

Well, if you are TOO POOR to afford FF updates, then I shall simply take my business elsewhere. Good day!

Is someone doing this?
The main body of the code seems to be:
var self = require('self');
var iconContent = '<img src="' + self.data.url("icon-16.png") + '" />';
var iconTarget = 'http://minichan.org/';
var icon = require('widget').Widget({
id: 'minichan',
label: 'Check for new PMs, citations, and watched replies on Minichan',
content: iconContent,
width: 30,
onClick: function() {
require('tabs').open(iconTarget);
}
});

Noone is currently doing this. An action button with an indicator of the amount of unread notifcations (response.json.notifications) would be great, and when clicked upon opening http://minichan.org/notifications in a new tab if there are notification. The chrome extension also supports desktop notifications but with those you have to be careful to dismiss them again once the count changes to zero. It would be cool, though.

I'm a little new to FF extensions, but I can fuck around and try to come with something workable. If it's only a little JavaScript, this shouldn't be too hard once I get some time to sit down and play with it.
@473,114 (H) > whores and pictures of cats shitting in toilets
I will need time to collect pictures of whores and cats shitting in toilets that can be made into buttons or notifications. Just for clarity's sake, do you want just house cats pooping in toilets, or are big cats (lions, tigers, jaguars, etc.) okay too? Also, should I include taxidermied cats to keep squeegee happy?

I'm sorry, my cat posted that reply while hopped up on nip. After I found out and told him he was going to have to collect all those pictures he just looked at me as if to say "What are whores?" Ah, he pretends I don't let him use the Internet. Anyway, he's not very good at JavaScript, so this might be a disaster. In fact, what he comes up with might just end up being a Firefox extension that shows you pictures of fish and gives you information about their spawning habits and how to fish for them. (My cat only started to like Minichan after the whole FatsBot thing...)

There is a file minichan_notifier.xpi on the BTShare. It's worked pretty well under Linux, OSX, and Windows 7 so far. I haven't tested it out on Windows 8 yet, but it's there for your (and anyone else's) perusal.
Right now it's using desktop notifications, but I can try to do something with action buttons once FF 29 comes around.

If you let the notifications pop-up and go away 100,000 times, then the icon replaces itself with pictures of shota.

Sorry, any version downloaded by you violates Qualcomm™ End-Designer Patents. It automatically reports your activity via satellite to your employer and then uses your machine to mine Dogecoin.

The Firefox review process is stringent. You have to submit your 100-or-so lines of code to be reviewed by a group of 20 foxes by firelight. Foxes are skittish creatures. Each one of them howls out lines of code and then waits for an approving howl. It takes a long time. It's rough. Once they figure out that you are not exploiting the latest Heartbleed vulnerability or mining dogecoin in your spare time, then they give it their tacit approval. After some weeks, you just get back an email: "You code like old people fuck."

I know. I wrote one forever ago, but I haven't been able to keep up with your posts enough to keep the corpus up to date. But... Yeah. There is a syntax_corpus.txt sitting on my hard drive right now.
> Reply's to my posts as count & New posts by all as a separate number
Could I put something in "options" that would let you set a number of base replies, and then anything over that number would trigger a notification? I'm going to fuck with it this weekend as a way of hiding from writing chess logic into some crazy chess variant game for Android. Firefox 29 was released the 29th, and I was planning on trying out their new action buttons in the UI module anyway and looking at how mobile browsers handle stuff. If you want some random feature, then now is the time.
