Topic: Have a budget of 900-1100$ for a new PC, suggestions?

Anonymous A started this discussion 12 years ago #34,170

I'm a noob with this sort of thing, but I know that I can get something pretty damned good for the budget that I have. I want something that can handle games flawlessly on the highest settings, have a good processor, memory, and obviously a good video card as well. Thanks, boys.

I offered up the suggestion of the Atari ST. As I remember its cost $999 and 512 Kb Ram is nothing to sneeze at.

be sure to get a nice case that is expandable, i'd go with a full tower, but that's just me. i know a lot of mid tower cases will fit just about anything you'll need, but it's nice to have a quality case you can use across several builds and several years. i just replaced my old tower a couple if years ago, i had it for ten years and upgraded because of the much improved cooling. otherwise i'd still have it.

probably one of the cheaper parts you'll buy, but a very over looked part. everyone wants a big fat expensive video card and then they put it in a 45 dollar case with 2 little 4" fans.
