Topic: Are you a Baby-Boomer, GenX-er, Millennial or NetGen-er?

Anonymous A started this discussion 12 years ago #34,126

Growing up, I had no idea which generation I was included in. I knew I wasn't a baby-boomer because that was practically a synonym for old people even back then, so I concluded that I must be part of this "Generation X" that had 'taken over' the scene; nobody told me which generation I belonged to, so I assumed I was a part of 'GenX', the only generation represented/catered to in media, at the time.

I found out later that being born in the late 80s sealed my fate as a 'Millennial'.

I was born in 1991 which I feel makes me a Millennial

But it's vague and unimportant really

Wtf is this shit?

2000/2001-Present - New Silent Generation or Generation Z
1980-2000 - Millennials or Generation Y
1965-1979 - Generation X
1946-1964 - Baby Boom
1925-1945 - Silent Generation
1900-1924 - G.I. Generation

Wtf does the Y stand for? Is this some amerifag shit or?

Alphabet. Y is after X.
That would make me a millennial, then?

It's because... "why?"

And yes, it is, in fact, some amerifag shit.
Some amerifag shit that gets taken very seriously by some heads on television screens.

millennial. i have brother's who are undoubtedly gen xers and they are... well, let's just say that they still think skateboarders represent youth counter-culture. maybe they do, but it's not a thing like it used to be.
not that they aren't savvy in their own ways, but dudes still use CDs. that is so gen x.

If you were in 1990, does this make them a millennial or a netgener?

I may be a "millenial" but I feel little in common with the college kids that graduated in the economic boom.

google was never a new thing. it just used to be called a card catalog and was used to refer you to information contained on actual pages.
