hey, don't blame the pit bulls, blame the owners. Some of the best, sweetest, gentlest dogs i've known have been american pits.
what should actually grind your gears are people who get dogs they are either unable, or unwilling to socialize, train and properly house a large breed dog. with proper care pit bulls can be absolutely wonderful family pets, they are very loving. But if they are neglected and left semi-feral, untrained, hungry, and scared then they can be very dangerous. just like any breed of dog.

tl;dr what grinds my gears: people who blame the breed and not the owners

Yeah because any other breed of abused dog mauls at the same rate as pit bulls.

so lets get rid of pit bulls becuase when you abuse them they get aggressive...

if you abuse them...

so this is a people issue, not a dog breed issue. people become dangerous and aggressive (more so than dogs) when you abuse them, so lets blame the species instead of the individuals.

"humans are too dangerous to permit living in cities, becuase if you abuse them they can be aggressive and hurt someone."

ridiculous

pits are fine, it's people that're fucked up.

Pits can and do snap when they've never been abused. We should also ban lions from neighborhoods.

so do doberman pinchers, german shephard, mastiffs, chows and other big dogs. they require proper training, socialization and a fenced yard.

big dogs are inherently more dangerous than little dogs. all of them. but with proper care they make fine pets.

little dog owners don't understand becuase they think all dogs can be neglected and ignored with the only repercussion being annoying attention seeking behavior. not aggression, which in little dogs people think is "cute."

people like that get a mastiff, try to care for it like a lap dog, and next thing you know the mailman gets mauled.

@470,636 (L)
the difference being lions are wild animals that have never been domesticated, unlike dogs which were domesticated several ages ago. like 40k years or more. so this argument is invalid.

It's popular here in Texas (and other parts of the US with large Hispanic populations). It's sort of like fresh ground pork seasoned with vinegar and chili powder and spices. Very nice fried up with eggs. Conversely, Spanish chorizo is hard to find here.
