his teacher is correct by my understanding of anthropology. it has to do with how humans use tech to overcome problems associated with population collapse and have raised the point of overpopulation with every donkey cart, ox plow, steam engine, tractor, fertilizer, vertical hydroponics, and every other tech that conforms our environment to suit us.
sure it exists for deer and wolves and other petty creatures that exist despite their environment constantly trying to kill them, but not so much for us.
hell, a third of the world goes hungry everyday (or whatever) and we still have rising population, we're freaks of nature, humans are.
that may be what his teacher was talking about. of course dissenting opinions do exist.

It's generally used as a eugenicist talking point - completely ignoring every other factor which causes these issues, and instead jumping to "let's kill people who aren't white". And yeah, it's a myth, pretty much.
