Why has it failed every single time?

Anonymous B joined in and replied with this 12 years ago, 5 minutes later[^] [v] #467,995

Because power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely.

Such things have been known forever. But as we learned with religion, people actually love a good scam to steal shit.

Compounding mismanagement, the usual corruption, leaders with questionable interpretations of ideology and trash ethics, and American antagonism.

It's not as if capitalism isn't a murderous fucking failure or anything. :v

Heavily regulated capitalism fails for the same reasons as socialism. Government begins to fancy itself the savior of humanity, and aggressively sells itself as such.

No need to learn how to make shit and clean up your own messes. The government will take care of it.

I'd argue its raised living standards a lot better than communism. Otherwise why else would people get shot trying to cross the Berlin Wall or risk their lives in homemade boats trying to get to Florida?

Actually, yes!

You do realise that actual full communism involves a stateless society, right?

I don't think the Soviet Union or many of its contemporary left-leaning regimes were interested in achieving that. <_<

Not that I think Marxism would really work, but wasn't the Soviet Union its own brand of totalitarian government that was, if anything, far more similar to fascism than different?

Yeah, precisely because of government regulation. I guess when you suffer from extreme cognitive dissonance, proving your opponents point becomes humorous.

Under Stalin, it definitely took that turn! (I'm immensely suspicious of any ~leftists~ who'd ally with fascists to kill liberals, as opposed to the other way around.)

> You do realise that actual full communism involves a stateless society, right?

Only if you believe Marx to have been genuine. He took great care to develop strategies to usurp and undermine non-governmental systems of authority, while expecting an all-powerful government hierarchy to willingly dismantle itself. Give me a break. Power cedes nothing without a demand and Marx was well aware of that fact. He was a propagandist and a damn good one.

Marxism will never be anything more than an elaborate troll job to terrorize and bring ruin upon a gullible public.

Because it doesn't work. Meanwhile Capitalism and Democracy has a much better track record, being heavily a associated with successful and enlightened nations. Not to say that they're prefect and can't be improved, but they're the best so far.

You shouldn't be so dense as to be unable to see that wealth is inherited, and that wealth leads to better opportunities for one's children. Only a Randroid could possibly believe with any sincerity that all oppression is invited by the mistakes of the oppressed.

Keep sucking down that lamestream 'news' bro. Are you liberals really so arrogant as to think a phenomenon reported by literally millions of eyewitnesses is entirely without merit? You really imagine they're all just crazy, huh? Fuck, that is a shitty way to view other humans.

As for FEMA camps, your obvious normalcy bias and worship of governmental authority makes that discussion pointless. I'm sure you'll believe once you wake up in one though.
