That's not happening until we take actual measures against anthropogenic greenhouse effect increases and pollution as opposed to wishy-washy half-measures which won't actually achieve net negative GHG emissions or near-zero pollutant release.

Why does global warming have to be a bad thing, though? What if it actually benefits humanity a lot by allowing us to settle the Arctic? Also plants breathe CO2 so what if increased CO2 leads to improved crop yields and a generally greener earth?

Are Canada, Saudi Arabia, the US, and Norway really going to foot the bill for relocating the three billion people who will be driven off of their land by rising water levels? Because if that happens, I think that it should be countries which profited from the oil industry which pay for every last thousandth of a cent for repairing or compensating for as much of the damage as possible.
(Hint: it's cheaper to halt our current environmental destruction than it is to relocate billions of people and integrate them into entirely different societies than where they came from, and it's cheaper than relocating a third of the world's population worth of infrastructure.)

Also you can thank industry for everything that makes your life comfortable. Subsistence farming, living in a mud hut and dying at 30 from disease is not my idea of fun. If melting the polar ice caps is the price we have to pay for modern society, then its well worth it IMO. In the future we'll have to relocate Bangladesh and New Orleans is already a lost cause but humanity will manage.

But what if nature is already headed that way? It was warm in the middle ages, too, and it wasn't exactly the end of the world. The earth's climate is never fixed, its been changing since the beginning.
The only real way to cut fossil fuel usage and maintain some semblance of a modern society would be massive nuclear power adoption, but that comes with its own issues.

Uranium ore (I have one chunk each of autunite and carnotite) is actually quite safe. You'd have to hold it continuously for decades to get anywhere near enough radioactivity to worry about. The main danger is from uranium mining where radon can build up and cause lung cancer.
