I don't see why someone couldn't be transracial, and identify with the culture and history, and desire to have the physical characteristics of another race. Nowadays, with plastic surgery a decent race change operation could be pulled off.
I don't see why the concept is mocked: it seems entirely plausible. The idea that you can change sex but not race is just ridiculous. Anyone who believes sex is an arbitrary social construct, but race is sacred is, in fact, a racist.

You're right of course but in many jurisdictions you can get your "legal" sex changed. I imagine race could be the same way (i.e. you'll never change the underlying biology, whatever that may or may not be in the case of race) but you could, for all meaningful purposes, change your race through cosmetic surgery, pigmentation alteration, hair treatment, etc.

The privilege part is debateable, I think but definitely yes to the latter half. And it would be true, too. Whatever the pros and cons of being black are, a cisblack person will never have to work at it and will be universally accepted as black whereas a transblack person will have to make a tremendous effort to pass, and face all kinds of ridicule and possibly even physical violence if they're found out.
I think, though, a transblack person would have negative privilege after the operation, because they'll no longer be accepted as white by most, but nor will they really be accepted as black. So I think it's a good option for any pampered trust fund college kids agonizing over their privilege.

Seriously, though, I couldn't even imagine the difficulty a Koalakin would face being accepted as a true Koala. First off, eucalyptus is not only toxic in small quantities to humans, but the leaves are completely indigestible as well. Not to mention the human circadian rhythm is wholly unsuited for sleeping 18 hours a day and trying to spend all day climbing eucalyptus trees with soft, easily torn human hands and a skeleton with geometry designed more for walking upright and less for tree climbing. And the fur! Even in a warm climate a naked human would be uncomfortable and vulnerable on top of a tree.
It's a big deal when a human can run a four minute mile, but thats only 15 mph! Imagine a Cheetahkin trying to keep up in the Serengeti! Slothkin enjoy slow privilege but you try hanging from a tree branch all day, growing algae in your fur, and defecating once a week on the forest floor. It's no bed of roses, to be sure.
Needless to say, otherkin face challenges unimaginable to trans* people. Some transracial and transsexual people can pass, something all otherkin can only dream of. I really do feel sad for them*. Until fur transplant, digestive system transplants, and total skeletal reshaping come to pass, they are stuck in an awful limbo: not human, but not able to transition, either.
*assuming they're actually true and honest, not just doing it as some special snowflake tumblr bullshit.
