If you can't think of any factors as to why that number is larger, then you are being fucking retarded. In most of human history, slavery was just that, people owning others, it was purely impersonal. Only Americans made it a race thing and went to extraordinary lengths to artificially establish a culture that depended on involuntary labor when the rest of the post-colonial world was busy abolishing it.
