Well, we're headed for global currency collapse. Seeing as how the bankster lifestyle is entirely parasitic, they probably preferred not to live though such an event.

Or alternatively, they were part of some kind of fifth column in the banking system gearing up to expose the massive corruption and thievery. We all know what happens when resistors to our reptilian overlords are found out.
