So far I've tried Raspbmc, it's not bad, but not great either. There's Rasbian, OpenELEC, RasPlex, and Raspbmc to choose from. I'm gonna give a few different ones a go and see how it pans out. My goal is a simple XBMC setup with a few good video add ons to choose from. I'm late to the Raspberry Pi thing, but that's good in the sense that there is a lot to choose from at this point and a lot of documentation.
Anybody using a Pi for a media center? If so, what's your setup like?
I've also ordered a PS3 controller so I can check out RetroPie.

Okay, it was too far away from my router to set up a traditional wired connection reasonably. I tried a dongle, but it was too unreliable (maybe due to power issues?). I dug out an old router and turned into to a wireless bridge, the Pi has a rock solid connection now. I'll keep updating this thread with my Pi adventure.
