thanks everyone for the thoughtful words. yeah, i'll be alright, caught it early this time. Last time i spent a week in the hospital recovering, but this time i've been released to my own care, which is nice. I've got a few antibiotics, some pain killers and the CT scan showed an abscess of infection but no hemorrhage so i caught it early.
luckily the worst of it has been moderately severe pain over 48 hours (constant) with a few bouts of severe pain and vomiting, so, all in all i could be worse.
Doc thinks i'll be back at work by probably tues or wednesday. possibly there's a surgical option that could help to alleviate all of this, waiting to see my primary care doc to get his best recommendation. I'm young, so he doesn't like the idea of surgery if it can be helped. of course when you're young and healthy is the time to have crazy surgeries. wait too long and it becomes more harmful. so we'll see.
