And I literally have no flipping idea what it's for. I know it's somewhat related to MediCal and that misuse of the card is unlawful (says on the back). But the card doesn't guarantee eligibility and is only for identification.

This is true. It is to identify you as being eligible for benefits ONLY. I was caught using my card to scrape gum off the bottom of my shoe and had to serve 16 months in prison and pay five thousand dollars in fines and court fees.

Serious, this is California after all. Where it's illegal for any person under 18 to use a tanning bed. However a 12yo can get an abortion without parental consent, no questions asked.

This is the first time I've hearing about that tanning bed law. Are you for real?
What the fuck? It's legal for a 12 year old to have an abortion without parental consent? I assume this is to prevent pre-teen motherhood.

Yeah the tanning bed law was introduced by an Asian state congressman of all people. Not to many Asians using tanning salons specially in Cali. The abortion law was actually passed by the voters in a state proposition. Any shop that pierces a teens ear without written parental permission will receive a fine though.
