What is the fucking point in having sales before Christmas, but not after?

Boxing day in the UK is great. Apart from being a holiday, it is a great day for sport. It is also a time when the Winter sales start and most people are free to enjoy a day out. If you do work it is usually double pay and a day off in lieu.

I didn't realise it wasn't part of the Christmas holiday in the States.

And what does a recipient do if they get money for Christmas? Oh, right. Nothing. Because there are no sales on the 26th because Americans still feel like being special little snowflakes and refuse to celebrate a holiday held throughout the rest of the Anglosphere.

We have after-Christmas sales in the US? Does this count as our Boxing Day?
