Software is better, even with Samsung's ridiculous TouchWiz BS. Or course, iPhone hardware is leagues ahead of Samsung. Hell, even HTC is beating Samsung these days on the industrial design front.

It's real easy to support your customers when there are only 100 of them.

HTC's been miles ahead of Samsung in materials and design for pretty much forever.
Actually come to think of it, pretty much any company besides Samsung tends to have acceptable build quality now. Between inferior plastics, exploding phones, and shitty Android skins, I can't imagine why they still manage to sell.

Nokia used to be at the top before they turned to touchscreens. @previous (Fox !FXYGNx1XR.)
Samsungs are pretty sturdy. Mine have survived great falls, Meta throwing it in a puddle and much more.

Ummm... Samsung is a douche until someone calls them on it. That's barely news. I actually have a burn scar on my leg from a 2008 MacBook Pro whose NVidia chips weren't treated with the right amount of thermal grease and went nuts and overheated. Apple ate the cost, repairing the defective shit for free. That was nice. Samsung is less of a company, but that hardly reflects on the operating system as everything you buy is made buy nine year-olds in China. The hardware fucking exploded. Super. Diodes blow. Shit goes wrong. That happens. That happens no matter which Chinese kids you get to solder your shit together. Samsung got bad Chinese labor. That doesn't actually say anything aabout the OS. Please separate the software from the hardware.

So does every device I've owned, including two HTC's One XL (one dying of only half-baked rom issues) and a Desire HD, both of which have gotten their asses kicked by upwards of three dozen falls each and now I've set up with LG's Nexus 5 and Asus's Nexus 7 which I've inadvertently found out handle falls fine as well.
I'd be fine with abusing Samsung handsets because they hold together as decently as any other phone but have no inherent beauty worth protecting like the rest.
