Oh yeah, I found it. I had been drinking heavily when I the posted the other thing. Anyway, they are trying to measure intelligence by employment and earnings. (and, yeah, they're economists) Have fun with doing that. People who study intelligence for a living still can't agree on how to measure it and debate it endlessly. What you are trying to measure, i.e. your functional definition of "intelligence", isn't coming close.

That said, the statistics are pretty sound, the sample size is great, and tall people tend to do better. One might speculate, as the authors mention, that people learn to respect people taller than them as more intelligent and experienced through training early in life when adults are both taller and smarter than you. (That's a psychological argument, and might be one factor among many in this puzzle.) There might be some biological effects (a rise in hormone secretion during a certain developmental period, "growth spurts" help you remember things or hurry brain development) that lead to height as well as brain development )
Although, human brains are fucking complex and develop certain skills at certain times. We're not yet certain exactly how or when "brain development" for $SOMESKILL is important/critical/relevant yet. So.... dunno.

Final assessment of that study: Your measure of "intelligence" is a little bent, but pretty solid for work by economists. Good stuff.

Is there a correlation: Yes, according to one study. In general? Probably. That correlation probably exists for a number of factors. What are those? Good fucking question.

Well, I sort of think the underlying question here is: Do people perceive taller people as more intelligent and treat them accordingly?
