It is definitely an acquired taste but I definitely prefer.it to almond milk or coconut milk or lactose free milk. Vanilla flavor is the best IMO.

I don't like the taste of milk, so lactose-free milk is lame. Coconut milk is... good. I'll have to try soy and rice milk.

It's a bit strange, because home-made yoghurt is extremely common in Indian families.

Lactose intolerance almost always develops post-breastfeeding.

Mothers milk is also very high in Lactose.

I had to review what the web says about babies and lactose intolerance. There is no hard and fast rule - Babies born premature often do not produce the enzyme that breaks down lactose and in normal births babies may make the enzyme and later lose ability to produce it, as they grow older.

I knew the answer to why Yogurt is often ok - but on review just now, its also a bit more complex - The process of making yogurt - produces an enzyme that breaks down the lactose. Not all yogurts are equal because of the whey content, which has a lot of lactose. So Greek style "firm" yogurts have the least lactose.

I only just now discovered that aged cheeses also break down lactose -
