You can't sort numbers alphabetically, regardless of what Wikipedia tells you.
Although your suggestion is a good one. A simple numerical sort based on character values would still put that data in order properly!

Don't be so pedantic, an alphabetical sort can include numbers. Calling it alphanumerical is more accurate, but you get my point. Besides, most (non-unicode aware) alphabetical sorts are implemented by comparing ascii values for characters anyway, so yeah.
