The first one was held in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Considering how Mojang seems to pick locations near amusement parks, if they were to ever go to California, it'll probably be in Anaheim or Buena Park.

I'm sure they could probably afford it, but they'll probably just hold it somewhere in Disneyland much like they did for Disneyland Paris.

If they wanted to they actually could. The Disneyland Hotel is used for events like that all the time. I worked at one a few months ago. There's a MASSIVE ballroom and I'm sure minecon could fit in.
