I think, perhaps, he was actually capable (albeit unintentionally) of doing harm to others. It doesn't take a lot to pass out drunk or lose your train of thought when you have put a Koran in the toaster or whatever. I'm pretty sure that his neighbors had good reason to be afraid. I grew up in a low-income housing situation, and we had numerous occasions where people high on *whatever* (and looking for self-destruction) took others with them. The dude on coke that jumped off a building and landed on a little girl really sort of made that point for me. The guy with an uzi who decided to go shoot the walls 'because they were moving' helped too.
I doubt that Green would actually hurt anyone intentionally, but I have seen a lot of stupid shit done by other people (and myself while high or going through withdrawals) who were high/suffering withdrawals/fucking psychotic because of constant drug use/whatever that has seriously impacted someone else's life. BTW: If you think DTs are anything like a "a really bad hangover", then you do not understand withdrawal. You hallucinate. You can't sleep. You can only lay awake and hallucinate. You do stupid shit based on stupid beliefs that you arrive at based on hallucinations that your mind dreams up in your panicked mental state. You can seriously hurt yourself based on these strange beliefs. (i.e. throw yourself out windows, cut yourself open, hurt other people because you think they are plotting to kill you, etc.) All the while you are conscious, you feel like you are going to vomit and shit yourself while having a mild panic attack. It's not fun.

Yep, I got deep psychosis when I was withdrawing in Hosp. Thought I was in a human testing lab and punched a nurse. Repeatedly pulled out all my tubes, and eventually had to be tied to my bed. Lasted 7 days.

Wow. Withdrawing from what if you don't mind?
All my exciting craziness has been alcohol related, but I've seen some friends go over the edge for speed or heroin. It's sad when you have an inkling of what they might be experiencing, and you can't step in to tell them to stop without knowing that you'll just look like another insane part of their withdrawal fantasy.

It was alcohol. I had pancreatitis at the time, as well as pneumonia and a blood infection. I was pretty I'll, and they had to put me in a coma.
