If you can make that much money just putting up pirated stuff, why don't the studios/record labels do it? I mean, if they don't the money will just go to Isohunt, TPB, etc.

I sincerely doubt he actually has that kind of money. They wanted $750/£465/€550 million in damages back in July, and said $2-4 million in damages would "exhaust Mr. Fung’s [...] ability to pay" when they were asked how much they estimate his resources to be.

They might as well have gone for $17 trillion then, and paid off the national debt while they were at it :p


I never understood why courts award damages which are obviously never going to be paid.
