It's a legitimate question. If the Federal government is no longer providing full service, why is it still charging full price? If your electric company said "we're only going to provide electricity for half the day, but charge you 100% of what you'd normally pay" you'd ask for a partial refund, right?

I'm not even asking for the income tax to be abolished. I'm just saying however much the Federal government is saving in this "shutdown", reduce my taxes (and everyone else's, too) by that percentage. It's only fair.

Yes it wood be nice to opt out of tax's for stuff you do not believe in. So you think the populace at large should be able to opt out of anything they do not care to support.

Shouldn't there be some correlation between level of taxation and services receieved? Like in the UK taxation is much higher than in America, but you get free healthcare and a better social safety net.
