Topic: I'm not sure if I'm an agnostic or if I'm just a Christian who hates churches.

It's been keeping me up all night.
My morality is in line with what Christianity stands for (love, acceptance, peace, kindness, giving it your all) but I can't stand what "religion" is, because I only see "love thy neighbor only if he is like yourself". I'm really confused, and I think I've just been using agnosticism as a cop-out.
I know this is a weird place and an even weirder time, but I need to talk this out with people.

I'm about as atheist as it gets, and I'm for all that shit too. You don't actually have to sign up to some club to live your life by a set of beliefs.

I'm not talking about going to church, hell, I probably will never go to a church again if I can help it. I see a church as a house of lies where the word of man is passed off as the word of God.
The whole God thing is what has me baffled. A incalculably vast, sentient singularity is a concept I can't comprehend. I can understand the whole gamut of computer technology just by handling it, so I don't think its that I'm "too dumb".
My one coworker said "I have questions" when I tried to describe my beliefs-or-maybe-not-beliefs to her, and I think that sums it up excellently.
While I appreciate the atheist point of view, I would like as many viewpoints as possible. Ask me questions if you need more information to help better shape your advice.

There is no god. Pagan gods were just personifications of various aspects of humanity. Yahweh or 'the creator' is just a god of war.

If you want to embrace the whole "loving your neighbor" and "treating everyone like you would like to be treated", then you should do so. You don't need anyone's permission to do that. You don't need religion to do that. You can just do it.

also, agnosticism cannot be a cop-out, since by stating that your an atheist your saying that you have concrete, infallible evidence that there is no god. its literally the only plausible non-religion stance

I do that, as best as I can, without a definite title to my beliefs. It's just, a lot of circumstances that have come together rather quickly have me very conflicted. A girl has shown interest, some woman who looked at me and started talking to me about my beliefs instead of paint, my sister joining the Army, my mom is going insane (or was all along, and now it's hit critical mass). It's all left me off kilter.

I agree with him too. It's like this, I wouldn't not believe in the tooth fairy if not for people telling be to believe in the tooth fairy.
I wouldn't have knowledge of the tooth fairy, becuase the tooth fairy had to be imagined.
Not believing in the tooth fairy doesn't make me a tooth fairy denier, or mean I believe in a philosophy of tooth fairy denial or am an antitoothfairinite.

Atheism doesn't claim to have infallible proof against a god. It claims disbelief in any god. Big difference.
