Topic: Do Asian people expect people to be able to tell which country their ancestors are from?

Some people from different Asian backgrounds seem to really dislike being confused with the wrong ethnic group, although it's not clear to me how anyone is supposed to know by looking. Is this reasonable? Is there a way to tell?

According to my Asian friends, people from different countries do look noticeably different. I don't see it, myself though.

There are general rules to go by. But even Asians can't always tell each other apart. It's really just hilariously specific racism.
