I think that the excuse to help the rebels is just of course a excuse. Its all about the fear of the rebels and their unfavorable opinions of america.

I don't think that comparison makes much sense. Actually I think there would be a great deal of outrage from the EU, neighboring countries, and Germans themselves. I don't think military involvement would be necessary to remove her from power. I think her own people would probably take care of it. There is the important difference between military dictatorships and democratic governments. She is not defending her time in office with bombs and guns. If she showed any hint of that, I don't think she would be in power much longer.

Since Israel is heavily armed, and such a democratic country and force for good in the region, why can't they take the lead in managing Syria? It's like right next door to them. Why must the responsibility fall on a distant, heavily indebted country thats been at war for the past 12 years?
Obama was a dumbass for drawing the red line. Sounds like a move from the Dubya playbook. But then again, Obama is basically Dubya with 50% more melanin.
