I think it will hinge on the bullet trajectories. Did he have his legs on, or not? That's what's going to nail him in a lie IMO.

@previous (kook !!32zdfdzi+)

He had just woken up and assumed she was in bed and then he didn't have the legs on so its hard to see that way when its dark. And i mean he already lived in a high security neighborhood so why would he think there us a burglar? its called fear and its something that can happen when people are not thinking straight, as if they had just woken up.

they had engaged a domestic violence dispute two hours before that where police had to be called. Gated community, girlfriend not in bed, and they found have in a crouching position, like she was in there crying after a fight. He also carried her body through the house, which probably means that he did have his legs on

This has not even been brought up by the prosecutors, only that a witness heard shouting but it could have been him calling his girlfriend and telling her to call the police after he had fired shots. Also he did move
his girlfriend after the accident.

Also i can easily understand him wanting to see what happened and if or if not it was his girlfriend that he shot.

As i understand it, there was no signs that she had suffered hits from a bat.

Also some stuff from his past:
What do we know right now about Oscar Pistorius? We know that the police were called to his residence two hours before the fatal shooting of Ms. Steenkamp. The neighbors called them, citing a "loud argument.” We also know that, in 2009, Pistorius spent a night in jail after allegedly assaulting a 19-year-old woman. Finally, we know that the police plan to seek a charge of “premeditated murder” against the 26-year-old athlete, indicating that they are not exactly sold on the whole “thought she was a burglar” narrative.

Also, he (seemingly without irony) threatened to break this guy’s legs once.

The bullet trajectory through the door was what I read. He claims he was on stumps. Early investigation stated the trajectory through the door was too angled down for him to have been on stumps (which he stated he was, having just gotten out of bed).

People have arguments all the time but though yes it is suspicious that the police had been called 2 hours before, do you know if its true? Because that can change my mind a lot. Also allegidly assaulting people and threatnening
people who you think have slept with your girlfriend is nothing that can be seriously taken as evidence that he did murder his wife intentionally.

Yeah because its expected that you act in a rational manner when you just shot a burglar in a frightened state and then realized it was your girlfriend. Also where are all the witnesses now? They claim they heard yelling but yet

He has claimed to have believed that his girlfriend was still in the bed with him. You actually think that he didnt check and just assumed that a burglar was in the bathroom and not her? Also they found a shell casing outside if the bathroom, and they believe that he chased her, fired a shot, cornered her in the bathroom, and shot three more times.

> Um the police would know wouldnt they? They did show up at the house. It shows a pattern of aggression

What i am saying is that the official story i have heard was that they had come home from a quiet pleasant evening. I read the prosecutors case and never was there mentioned them showing up at their house 2 hours before.

> He has claimed to have believed that his girlfriend was still in the bed with him

It was dark, he was on the floor and he hears something and assumes its a burglar since he assumes his girlfriend is in the bed, goes into a irrational combat mode. I mean gunshot accidents are not at all rare.

> Also what witnesses are you referring to and how do you know that no one heard the shots?

From what i have read, the witnesses only state that they heard shouting which could have been Oscar himself calling for his girlfriend to call the police. But if neighbors heard shouting and called in the police 2 hours before, dont you think its strange that they didn't hear gunshots and screams like you suggested witnesses heard. Or did they hear it but for some reason decided not to call the police?

> Only the police report. The autopsy report hasn't come out yet

Quote:
The state hinted that its case would hinge on the witnesses who say they heard a woman scream before the gunshots inside the gated complex in the pre-dawn hours of Feb. 14.

"Some of the state witnesses heard a woman scream, followed by moments of silence, then heard gunshots and then more screaming," the prosecution said in the 11-page indictment.

First, national broadsheet Beeld reports that police had been called to Pistorius's house two hours before the shooting, after neighbors complained of a loud argument between him and Steenkamp.

Police have confirmed that they've been called to Pistorius's exclusive gated community in the past for "incidents of a domestic nature," and he has something of a history of violence involving women

Okay lets assume, for the sake of argument, that Oscar Pistorius genuinely believed it was a home invader. They are in the bathroom, they're already cornered. The only way out of the bathroom is through the door which Oscar Pistorius is pointing his gun at. He clearly has the upper hand and no reason to feel vulnerable.

What should he do, with this home invader trapped in his bathroom?
A) ask the invader to identify themselves
B) call the police while keeping his gun pointed at the door
C) shoot first and ask questions later

The police said that they saw bullet wounds, not that the head wasnt crushed, sometimes you cant see that because of the hair. During the Jon Benet Ramsey case, they only noticed the garrote, and didnt see that her skull had been crushed in until her autopsy, because the hair and blood covered it

What do you count as a reliable source?
Pistorius' history with guns

Quote:Pistorius’ former girlfriend, Samantha Taylor, also could be called by the prosecution amid reports that she was once driving a car when Pistorius fired a gun out of the sunroof. So, too, could people who were at a Johannesburg restaurant when Pistorius reportedly shot another gun accidentally. It was reported that those two incidents would be incorporated into Pistorius’ indictment, adding charges of recklessly discharging a firearm in public. They were not, but the incidents could still be brought up at trial.

A member of Pistorius’ gun collecting club is also a witness, suggesting prosecutors may further examine Pistorius’ attitude to firearms. Before the shooting, Pistorius applied for licences for six more guns in addition to the 9-mm Parabellum pistol which he was licensed to have for self-defence and which he used to kill his girlfriend

That's what a reasonable person does. A reasonable person does not jump out of bed and start firing blindly just becuase they hear someone going tinkle at 4am.
