Topic: Fallout new vegas, what is the ethical thing to do?
Anonymous A started this discussion 13 years ago#30,532
Spoilers ahead!
So i am doing this quest called 'There Stands the Grass' and its about how you go into this underground research
center where things have gone wrong and some unnatural plants have infected people and turned them into some kind of
plant zombies.
Anyway you get some data from a computer concerning the research on plants that went on there. Later you meet up
with a woman that you rescued (and helped burn down the research center) ,she tells you that you have to destroy the data that you got from the computer in order for this kind of hell never happening again.
The dilemma is that there is this other scientist who wants to use the data in order to increase food production to
an amount that is amazing. This all takes place in a post apocalyptic world so its not like we have plenty of food...
Nope its just a side quest. Have you done any of the dlcs yet?

Well after you have downloaded them, i recommend starting with Dead Money. If you do this one right, you walk away with 100 000 bottle caps!

I gave the scientists the data.
It isn't going to an isolated Vault, it's going to a modern civilisation with a standing army. They can handle it if it goes wrong, if not then they've upped food production. It's worth the risk.
Also, The Courier makes a good point about the data getting out helping to ensure it doesn't happen again. Let humanity learn from its mistakes.
Also, was really expecting to see that other moral dilemma quest in here. If you know the one I mean...

The one with the irradiated water. Essentially, your options are either saving a bunch of trapped Vault Dwellers, or purifying the water supply for the nearby NCR farm.

ahhhh that one. I thought you meant inside vault 22. Well its a easy decision, you rescue the vault dwellers because you already gave that scientist a revolutionary way to grow those beans.

Should I purchase Fallout 1 2 or 3?

@previous (kook !!32zdfdzi+)
True! Really, it's only a short-term loss for the NCR.

1 and 2 are very old-school, best watch some videos to see if it's your thing. 3 is more accessible and a lot of fun, but I'd recommend New Vegas over 3. Unless you already have New Vegas, in which case yeah buy 3, it's enjoyable.

3? Lotta fun, big open world, fun dialogue and fun combat and levelling.
And I'm pretty sure the New Vegas isn't too expensive by now, it's not exactly new. Try getting it second hand, I'd really recommend it over 3, it's got more depth to it.
