Topic: brie linked to a gender test called the COGIATI

Cat !TGirlYJKXM started this discussion 13 years ago #30,500

Combined Gender Identity and Transsexuality Inventory.

These are my results and while I sort of predicted this outcome from my honest answers.

I cannot help but feel like I've been bullshitted. The test doesn't even take into account that one may have never crossdressed or is socially inept.
It's even telling me that I probably shouldn't transition yet part of me feels like this is something I should do.

Take the test for yourself. See what score you get. WARNING: It's 65 questions long.

Indeed. I could not complete it because of question 9. :(

What was question 9? And I answered such questions according to what I thought and felt I'd do. I definitely see why these things have a disclaimer claiming that it's no substitute for a good therapist.

Maybe you shouldnt transition if you currently have other mental health issues

Its good that you're trying. transitioning without mental health assistance is a mistake

@438,358 (C)
I also have to agree with this statement. The whole test felt way too stereotypical of both genders although the one thing that tipped me off were the questions not about mathematics but about driving directions.

@previous (C)
Of course, although I wouldn't go as far as saying it's a mistake since a lot of people are sure of themselves without the need for mental health assistance. But then again, I cannot speak for them.

> Question 1: Describe your relationship with mathematics

Despite the "girls are bad at math" trope, I'm going to go ahead and humor this test. But yeah, I don't have high hopes. My first impression is that this is anything but scientific. And yes, I do have a degree in psychology.

OKAY: I tried. By the fifth question I realized it was coded wrong. The poor English doesn't help. Some questions are ambiguous and don't make sense. This is basically a MySpace survey.

> You are parking your car. You must reverse into a somewhat narrow space to park. What do you do?
I actually rolled on the floor laughing.

> Which choice most closely describes why you dress up 'en femme', as a woman.
Most guys I know who dress in drag for a party, do it to get chicks. Those that don't, are pretty honest about telling me that they do it to get guys. Most of them have a better handle on their sexuality than this test might give them.

These questions are fucking pointless. I can't do this. Sorry.

@438,349 (Cat !TGirlYJKXM)
Basically it was "why do you dress up like a girl". But as I don't do that, I couldn't answer. Shame, I wanted to see how transsexual I was. :(

@438,358 (C)
I know, right? But what's odd is that some of the questions are phrased for both genders. Like the one that reads something like "a group of people the same sex as you...". But then, you've got questions like the other one I cited, which is quite clearly designed for men and not applicable for women. They really could have designed this better, I wouldn't take it too seriously.

Good news! You are very transsexual.

This is the author, by the way. Her three spouses are Sandra, Eldenath, and Stephen. Her qualifications for creating this test are that she is a webcomic author and computer game designer, as well as the owner of a faux vagina.

Yeah. That is probably the real test: if you can stand to look at that background long enough to answer these questions then you are most likely transsexual.

Funny very funny.

Webcomic author with a faux vagina. I did not see her at comic con. Of course if she had a Faux Vagina costume I may not have noticed.
