well, recent research has shown that the egyptians took pretty good care of their workers, they were housed, paid, and fed.
There were huge cities devoted to the workers to support the building of large pyramids and whatever. They had homes and kept families there.
So then here come the jews, a roving band of nomadic zealots who circumcise themselves.
They join in the work, are housed, paid, and fed.
But honest work wasn't good enough. They needed more, and when the pharoah said no the jews attacked him and his people with black magic and killed many, many children.
Then they fled with their jew gold, never completing the pyramid they were paid to build.
