We weren't lucky, we just were. It's not like there's a consciousness taking a lottery ticket on what kind of life form we'd turn out to be, that's looking at it completely backwards. Oh yeah, because consciousness is a trick of the mind, much the same way your brain tricks you into seeing still images on a screen as moving objects, your mind combines all of your sensory perceptions, memory, and instinct and tricks you into feeling individual consciousness. If you strip away all of those things you distil each person down to the same base core of awareness that every living being has.
