It was a dark evening, the Brits just dropped this weeks rations, Bruce could hear the humans saying that it was even less than last week.
He hoped with his whole heart that the humans missed a potato or even some breadcrumbs the humans didn't bother collecting.
After a minute or ten all the people where gone and Bruce could sneak up to the food. Nothing. Just like last week.
Bruce knew he was going to get back to the USA, that they would pick him up, that they would not just leave him to rot in this godforsaken city.
He had to make it until then though. Bruce thought about other options of getting food. He was considering making the journey to a concentration camp, figuring the Germans would feed their own well, right?
If he was lucky he could take a few down before the war ended. Bruce decided to get some rest and see if he could get on a train in the morning.
You may be wondering how an American Staffordshire terrier got stuck in Germanys capital. It was on the 23th of December, 1944 that he landed, with his owner, a wealthy, all though some say eccentric, bussinessman.
They where staying in Munich's most prestigious hotel, the first night there Bruce's owner, by name of Will Hedger , had to leave Bruce alone for a dinner party. Inevetably Bruce's curiosity got the best of him and he decided to sneak after him.
After an hour or so of walking through Munich Bruce finally found his owners car and decided to enter the house in front of which it was parked. When Bruce saw who Will was talking to Bruce decided to run and hide. He could not bear being fed by someone who.. Who..
9 in the morning. Bruce planned waking up earlier so he could catch the first train, but at least he was well-rested now. After a 15 minute walk Bruce arrived at the train station, "Perfect" he thought. "A packtrain. That will probably have some good hiding spots."
