No surrender?
No surrender.
I should mention that I'm starting to find myself hating the Islamic fascists and most of the immigrants pouring into Europe. It's a soft jihad against civilization. What can happen is only a war with Islam.

Not all Middle Easterners are Muslims and not all Muslims are from the Middle East. There are Arab Christians and Jews and atheists. I have nothing against a religion, just immigrants who attack people and make countries unlivable. We need to stand up for European culture and not let others dictate to us what we can and can't do.

I would never advocate violence, but I would say warfare is acceptable. Sometimes you can't negotiate with a "mad dog" and have to use decisive action to prevent needless chaos and death. I oppose any and all attempts to make it illegal to defend one's self against aggression. I'm talking about measured responses targeting those able to fight. No attacks on civilians.

Cornwall, move to an area where they let in Muslims by the truck load like East London, Bradford or Malmo in Sweden. When crimes like rape, assault and other anti-social crimes rise you can put your hands over your eyes and act like nothing is happening.

Irrational. They do this because they are bad people with few morals, not because they are Muslims. Their relgion nor their race is the root cause.

Right, clearly the signs of a despotic regime. There's no hiding from it, bud. Progress is happening over there. Of course relgious, conservative governments are going to be voted in at first. Okay, and this is a bad thing because they stay in their own communities, and develop a mutual "us-them" thing with the locals. That's going to happen if you put a large group of people into any other country and they stick to themselves.
The thing is, that this will likely get less bad as time goes on. Lots of Muslim kids do intergrate into British society to some degree, becoming less seperate and becoming more tolerant.

It's funny how history has shown that mass multiculturalism fails time and time over, it was one of the main reasons the Roman Empire fell which brought on the dark ages. Do you see what is happening in Greece and far right movements? Nazi Germany? At some point hard times fall and the dominant culture attacks the other. You love to stick up for Muslims but do you see Muslim countries falling over themselves to become multicultural?

You're not making a valid point. They commit those crimes because they are immoral people, not because of their race or religion. How would you explain Muslims who do not rape?

Really? They kicked out a dictator, voted in a radical muslim who once in power took on the role of a dictator, the people who didn't vote protested to the point the army committed a coup, the army then proceeded to shoot up the the protesting supporters of the voted in government. When your religion and culture allows rapists to blame the victim then your religion and culture is to blame. Why is it Muslims are more likely to rape than other cultures?

You're not recognising that progress is relative, and takes time. Of course they are not going to vote in a left wing, equal rights advocate first thing. The fact that they voted and protested, is a good sign. The military involvement, not so much, but the progress still happened. Democracy was still reached for.
> When your religion and culture allows rapists to blame the victim then your religion and culture is to blame. Why is it Muslims are more likely to rape than other cultures?
The Old Testament also says that a man has the right over his wife's body, yet Christianity has generally grown more moderate despite this and other extreme parts. Relgion can be selectively ignored, it's an individual's own morals that are the key thing here. But that seems to be a key part of bigotry, I think. De-individualising whatever group you are hating, trying to downplay that they are all individuals with their own morals and views.
And again, you are ignoring Muslims who do not rape and do not want to rape. Which is, funnily enough, quite a lot of Muslims.

Why do you want to know what I'll do? How is it relevant to the discussion? It's totally irrelevant since I don't have the power to fix it and you or someone would twist what I would say and go "hurr durr racist bigot, you don't think like me so you're a racist, go back to Nazi Germany"
Why is democracy the final solution? The goal to be reached for? The more peaceful/safe Muslim countries do not have a democracy or do you think the west should bring democracy to them too? From what I've seen so far bringing democracy to the middle east only brings violence. Oh wait for it... > hurr give it time, ignore the body count teehee, just give it time, history will show I'm right. just.. need.. more... time..
The old testament isn't imprinted in law in the UK, Europe or north America. The Qur'an is with Shara law, the rape victim is almost always at fault if you live in a Muslim country. You don't have to look very hard to see woman are seen as 2nd class people and muslim men get away with a lot of rapes. When you grow up in a culture where women are looked down on and you'll most likely get away with an act of rape it become more common place.

Because if you think your insight is right, then surely you think you have the correct solution. Tell me, why are you afraid of being labelled a bigot for your proposed solution? Do you not have complete confidence in it? If it's right, then what others think shouldn't matter.
> It's totally irrelevant since I don't have the power to fix it
And neither of us has the power to suddenly change Muslim culture or immigration, yet we're talking anyway. By that logic, this whole conversation is pointless.
> Why is democracy the final solution? The goal to be reached for? The more peaceful/safe Muslim countries do not have a democracy or do you think the west should bring democracy to them too?
You don't think that a system where every citizen has a vote and equal rights is the optimum goal? And just look at the most successful, forward-thinking countries. Notice a trend?
> >hurr give it time, ignore the body count teehee, just give it time, history will show I'm right. just.. need.. more... time..
History does support what I'm saying. The transition to democracy was certainly not a painless one for western countries, you could apply your exact logic to the events of the French revolution, and they still ended up a democracy.
> The old testament isn't imprinted in law in the UK, Europe or north America
And yet there was a point in time when it heavily influenced the law, and was such a cultural norm that it may as well have been a law. But we grew out of it. Culture changed and those primitive beliefs were lost. We've seen that Muslim countries can do this too, with them allowing women more rights and giving their people more access to information (the internet). Honestly, you just seem quite pessimistic, arguing that Muslim culture cannot be changed for the better. But we've seen that it can.

It's totally irrelevant since I don't have the power to fix it and you or someone would twist what I would say and go "hurr durr racist bigot, you don't think like me so you're a racist, go back to Nazi Germany" > Because if you think your insight is right, then surely you think you have the correct solution. Tell me, why are you afraid of being labelled a bigot for your proposed solution? Do you not have complete confidence in it? If it's right, then what others think shouldn't matter.
Yeah, you're right. I don't have any confidence in it. The hole thing is a very complicated issue. And why should I have a "proposed solution" What give you the idea I have a final solution that I believe is 100% right? I'm not you, I don't believe I have an answer to everything.
Because something works for one culture doesn't mean it'll work for everyone else. I'm not saying they shouldn't have democracy but I'm also not saying they should.
No, I do not see the same trend you do.
What Muslim culture has changed for the better? It's actually getting worse, there was a time you could draw the prophet Muhammad, now you'll be stoned for it. You don't need to just use the drawing of a prophet to prove a point, there are others I could go on about like the guy who tweeted that he wants to shake the hand of Muhammad, he now faces death.

I've never said I have an answer to everything, just that I view the approach I'm backing as as the most ideal, beneficial one, with some good historical precedence to it. Also, you are debating my solution of not meeting bigotry with bigotry and instead education. Therefore, this implies that you have an improved solution? If you know what the "wrong" solution looks like, surely you can suggest a better one?
> Because something works for one culture doesn't mean it'll work for everyone else. I'm not saying they shouldn't have democracy but I'm also not saying they should.
Why not? Europe also had a fairly wide variety of cultures, yet all gravitated towards democracy. What's more, Japan, a very non-culture, eventually became a democracy. And again, we're seeing lots of revolutions in the Middle East demanding democracy, demanding the vote. Clear evidence that they too want to move towards democracy.
> No, I do not see the same trend you do.
The majority are democracies.
> What Muslim culture has changed for the better?
More rights for women, more freedom of information, more interaction with other countries, more call for democracy.
And still, Christianity had a fucking brutal history too. Torture, pogroms, crusades, the Spanish Inquisition. And yet it was grown out of. This shows that just because a relgion is bad doesn't mean that it cannot improve.
And, as I said earlier, culture is the real driving force. Religion can and is cherry-picked as culture changes. You don't see too many Christians sacrificing pidgeons when a woman has her period. And some Christians these days even want equal rights for gays, completely disregarding what the bible says about that.

Well, it is easier to dismiss the Old Testament calling homosexuality an abomination because it is the Old Testament; in Islam it's not so easy. I'm glad there are liberal elements emerging, though as it is they receive almost no support from other Muslims. @436,957 (H) > Really? They kicked out a dictator, voted in a radical muslim who once in power took on the role of a dictator
In their defence, the other option was Army-backed Ahmad Shafik. They had little choice.

True, but this is how liberal elelments often emerge. Unpopular and percieved as radical at first, but slowly gaining in popularity. Hopefully, this trend will happen here too.

You can say this about western countries too. More extreme fundies have emerged, yet they don't necessarily influence the whole. Their dominance is not inevitable.
Also you can't just disregard progressives just because extremists exist too. Hell, I remember reading an article a while ago that Al-Quada is viewed as "the wrong crowd" by many Muslims these days. And you don't know for sure that they will radicalise instead of become more progressive, hence why I said "hopefully".

Some has changed for the worse. I saw a documentary about how free Afghanistan was in the 80's compared to now, and it was shocking

What do you think that it is that connects the Muslim culture to rape?

Hippies from the 60s would go to Afghanistan to smoke weed and the poppy. Then the Russians came.

A number of things really, woman are viewed as an under class where as men are highly rated, men outnumber women and treated as objects hence your child brides to 40 year old men. In some Muslim countries you can still kidnap your wife. It's just a very masculine culture with too much faith in old books and the ramblings of old preachers. Unlike Jewish or Christian faith you don't need special training or higher authority approval to be a preacher

To add more. I don't think rape is as a big deal to them as it is to us. If the victim is to blame as they often are then it's just brushed aside, the husband or the victims family can also be to blame for not protecting the girl

Do you think that its more cultural, religious, or just a mix of both?

I'd say they both play a role. Obviously it's kinda hard to seperate the two, since they're a very relgious culture, but you won't find much respect for women in either of them I'd wager. Though like I said, there has been some progress in the culture at least.
@437,006 (kook !!32zdfdzi+)
Hopefully it'll improve long-term. Extremists are actively being fought over there, after all.
