Well you wanted someone to prove something, i assume you wanted the proof so that you know if it is true or not? Well that is not the perfect method of finding the truth because with that methood all subjective opinions
are false since they cannot be proven. That goes for all our moral opinions.

Do you know the difference between a fact and an opinion??
Anonymous K replied with this 13 years ago, 13 minutes later, 9 hours after the original post[^][v]#436,388
yes i do, why don't we just use the words from that game shall we?
FACT: A fact is a fact because you can show someone that its true
OPINION: An opinion is an opinion because i CANT show somebody that its true.
So you see, if you use the whole method of using evidence to show you what is true or false, all opinions cannot be shown to be true which makes them false. This goes for moral opinions like ''people should not
be pedophiles'' yet everyone would say that it is true that people should not be pedophiles and hopefully you do too.
Do you understand now?

Now, do you understand the difference between moral law and secular law?
Anonymous L joined in and replied with this 13 years ago, 1 hour later, 12 hours after the original post[^][v]#436,472
Let me guess, if i say yes i am supposed to just guess how it is relevant and proves me wrong because you don't know and if i say no its too bad because it proves me wrong but you are not going
to tell me why because you don't know?
Maybe i am being over defensive but you won't believe how many childish people i have met on the internet. Anyway i found to many versions of what moral law is and i did not find out what secular law is. So please
explain to me what those things are,how they are relevant and why it challenges the above posts i have made (if they do at all that is).
Anonymous H replied with this 13 years ago, 1 hour later, 14 hours after the original post[^][v]#436,487
@previous (L)
In a nutshell, moral law is that which is sanctioned by god. Secular law is based on worldly, that is not religious or spiritual laws as mandated by god, but by man.
You claim that it cannot be proven that people should not be pedophiles. By moral law you are correct, because there is no consequence to pedophilia in moral law that can be proven. To my knowledge, no kiddy diddler has ever come back from the dead claiming hellfire and brimstone because of his actions.
However secular law disproves your claim. People should not be pedophiles because man has stated such, and there are proven consequences...prison, fines, being bubbas bitch for the duration, etc.
So your claim that it cannot be proven that people should not be pedophiles is false.
Anonymous M joined in and replied with this 13 years ago, 1 hour later, 15 hours after the original post[^][v]#436,501
Science is not a religion that advocates your own well being. As i understand it science is knowledge and it is us to decide what we do with that knowledge. You have the knowledge of seeing harmful consequences
of a certain action, then you form an opinion that you should not do that action but you make a mistake when you see the harmful consequences as evidence that the people should not perform that action.
To place the government at such a high place and think that whatever it feels is not okay automatically proves its not okay, is not scientific at all.

Anonymous O replied with this 13 years ago, 33 minutes later, 22 hours after the original post[^][v]#436,584
Well i am surprised you don't see what it has to do with it because i thought i made it clear. I was replying to a comment that stated that because there are harmful consequences to being a pedophile, it is scientifically proven
that people should not be pedophiles. This is false because like i said, all science could do is show us that there are harmful consequences of being a pedophile. To form an opinion that then you should not be a pedophile because of that, is in fact an opinion and thus it is still unproven.
Anonymous H replied with this 13 years ago, 39 minutes later, 23 hours after the original post[^][v]#436,596

No, it makes them opinions. As in subjective, not objective. A (subjective) opinion would be "I like cats", this is not false, it is what this person believes. I'm also not sure what your point is > This goes for moral opinions like people should not be pedophiles yet everyone would say that it is true that people should not be pedophiles and hopefully you do too.

Because if you say no. Then you are basically saying that the large majority of peoples moral beliefs are false. Which is my point, that when you use evidence to show you what the truth is, moral beliefs often turn out false.

right okay, so now you guys have defined opinions to a whole new level, They have 2 entities, the statement which can be proven false/true, and then the opinion itself which can't be proven true/false, the opinion is a special thing in this world with unique abilities to not be true or false at the same time. Its a entities from another dimension.

Yes it's true. There are several religious sects that believe they must "spread the word" by going door to door and testifying. (Jehovah's witnesses are one).
They leave pamphlets in public places. They accost people at airports. They put bibles in motel rooms.
I am not disparaging you, but you don't know this? I get the feeling you are either trolling, or very young.
Where have you had atheists push their non belief on you?
Anonymous U replied with this 13 years ago, 15 minutes later, 1 day after the original post[^][v]#436,843
I am not trolling and its not that i am young. Its just that i have only seen this in movies where some Mormons on a bike come and knock on the door and typically the people of course do not answer and so they
leave. I know
that it must be annoying and a burden indeed but i never imagined people were getting harassed this way at this rate. But don't worry i believe you.
Where i feel they push their lack-of-belief on me is on the internet. They are always calling people stupid. Have you heard of Yahoo answers? well there is a section for religion and spirituality and so of course this is a big
magnet for atheist trolls.
