They should have a death alert instead. It'll be wired to the funeral homes and they just wait a couple of days and then go through, collect the body and tidy the place up a bit.

I think there is a case to be made to stop unaturally extending life, however, it wouldn't stop with the elderly (and shouldn't).
I think though, instead of going to that extreme we should instead work on population control and finding renewable energy sources.

The people who collect the bodies could throw them into a pit and accelerate their aging so they turn to carbon faster! Forget renewable energy, we have systems that work now, and it would be better just to find different sources of the same fuel.

Obviously. It's more a practical use of resources stance. Its not a compassionate view, but a rational look at how to better the world.
There are other methods that attain the same results though, so instead I would push towards those.

My Aunt Jane (not really my aunt, but a close family friend who took care of my mom a lot) had a stroke and wasn't found for a day and a half. By then, she had completely lost use of her right arm. Eventually, through rehabilitation, she regained use of it.
My grandmother has LifeAlert and wears it around her neck at all times. I think it is a great product that could and has saved many lives.
