Don't know what to do about it. I don't think I can go to this appointment on Wednesday about anxiety

You should freak out about it. Freaking out about things often relaxes me.

I'm listening to angsty middle-school music because ambient wasn't helping.

Wrong kind of music. You need music that releases different brain chemicals. Hard rock and heavy metal work pretty well for that. Five Finger Death Punch has a single out now called Lift Me Up which does it for me. Not because FFDP is any good, I normally don't like their stuff, but because it features Rob Halford. He makes some pretty lame songs awesome.

Anything that mimics primal music types with some sort of primitive repeated drum rhythm as the primary part of the music should do the same thing, but I haven't seen real research reports on anything othef than metal.

Yes, those 25 seconds encompassed all the rage I needed. Never realised his voice was so high, that's weird.

OP, I completely understand where you're coming from, but if you want to get better you have to go to that appointment. Consider that you decide to cancel it, think about how shitty you'll feel for flaking, and then if you reschedule, you're just going to go through the torture of dreading it all over again. Just go. It's going to suck, but if you want to get better you have to start taking the steps necessary to get there, and one of those steps includes leaving your comfort zone. Best of luck.

You're completely right. It's only worth it if they give me pills, counselling isn't much of an option right now. They're really busy so hopefully they will.

Sucks that counselling isn't an option. I feel pills are not the way to go for social anxiety, at least they weren't for me. My therapist used a hands on approach centered around taking baby steps to resolve my issues, and it worked very well for me. I wish you could do the same. :/

Have you even tried not complaining about it?
